Mermaid

Sophie got to be a mermaid today! She convinced me to find out how to make a mermaid tail a few weeks ago. We consulted the internet, which led us to Mermaid Sasha on YouTube who told us how to make one. We got the fabric, made a pattern, and ordered a monofin. After Sophie practiced with the fin, we enlisted the help of our generous neighbor Ann Pressey, who sewed up the tail and added artful tendrils to the end. 

We took our mermaid to Legion Pool where it happened that she saw many of her friends! Mermaid Sophie swam like this for hours. It was a great day!

Seb's animal sounds

Sebastian may not exactly talk yet, but he's got his animal sounds down!

Hula baby

On the morning of Sophie's fifth birthday, she performed a little routine she learned at camp about being a hula baby walking down Waikiki. Moments prior, she had opened two presents -- a new bathing suit and a dress. She quickly fashioned the dress into a skirt and voila! a costume was born and the performance began. 

Chasing

I'm uploading more video. The first is a clip of the kids laughing and chasing each other. I post that as a prelude to the next video where a jumping jack accident occurs. What can you do? Having a sibling is both fun and dangerous!
